How to Order a Custom Flower and Balloon Arrangement

A custom arrangement works best when the florist understands the feeling you want to create and the practical limits of the delivery. You do not need to design every stem yourself; a clear brief is more useful than a long list of conflicting references.

Describe the occasion and recipient

Share whether the gift is for a birthday, anniversary, proposal, opening, congratulations, sympathy or another moment. Add a few details about the recipient’s style: classic, playful, minimal, romantic, colourful or luxurious.

Set a budget

A budget helps determine size, flower mix, container, balloon type and level of personalisation. Say whether the budget includes delivery. If you have flexibility, provide a range rather than asking for every possible option.

Choose a colour direction

Two or three preferred colours are usually enough. Mention colours to avoid. Reference photos are helpful for mood and scale, but fresh materials vary and an exact copy may not be possible.

Select the gift format

Choose a bouquet, flower box, vase arrangement, personalised balloon or a combined flower-and-balloon design. Browse bespoke gifts and the B&B Signature Collection for examples of structure and presentation.

Write the personalised text

For a balloon or card, send the exact spelling, capitalisation and punctuation. Short text is clearer on balloons. Include the sender’s name and tell the team if the gift should be anonymous.

Provide delivery details early

Custom work needs preparation time. Include the delivery date, preferred window, full address, recipient number and building instructions. For offices, condos, hotels and events, note the reception or loading requirements.

Allow for seasonal substitutions

Fresh flowers and specialty balloons depend on supply. Agree on the overall palette, style and value, then let the designer suggest suitable alternatives if a specific material is unavailable.

Custom-order brief

  • Occasion and recipient
  • Budget including or excluding delivery
  • Preferred and avoided colours
  • Gift format and approximate size
  • Exact personalised message
  • Delivery date, address and access details
  • Reference images for mood only

Send the brief through the contact page. For urgent work, confirm availability before paying because custom designs may require more lead time than catalogue products.
